Juli 2024 zeigt die Galerie m die Einzelausstellung \u201eVolume of Uncertainty (Shift 224)\u201c von <a href=\"https:\/\/www.galerie-m.com\/artist_image.php?aid=206&amp;aname=FrankaH%C3%B6rnschemeyer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Franka H\u00f6rnschemeyer<\/a> (*1958 in Osnabr\u00fcck). Titelgebend ist eine eigens f\u00fcr die Galerier\u00e4ume entwickelte Skulptur, die aus einem geometrisch angeordneten Metallst\u00e4nderwerk und einer filigranen, organisch wirkenden Struktur aus gr\u00fcn-wei\u00dfen kreisrund ausgestanzten Gipskartonscheiben besteht. Grundlegend f\u00fcr die Arbeit von Franka H\u00f6rnschemeyer ist die Bedeutung, Funktionsweise und Materialit\u00e4t von Raum &#8211; die physische Raumerfahrung ist immer zentral.<\/p>\n<p>Das Stahlger\u00fcst von <i>Volume of Uncertainty (Shift 224)<\/i>, das die Proportionen des umgebenden Galerieraumes aufgreift, definiert den Raum, strahlt Stabilit\u00e4t aus und wird gleichzeitig als durchl\u00e4ssiges Element wahrgenommen. Der Grundriss basiert auf einem Parallelogramm. Die dadurch entstehende perspektivische Verschiebung f\u00fchrt zu einer ungew\u00f6hnlichen Raumerfahrung, die sich zwischen dem Eindruck von N\u00e4he und Distanz bewegt. Das Verh\u00e4ltnis von Innen und Au\u00dfen erscheint fl\u00fcchtig und unbest\u00e4ndig. Dies wird durch die Skulptur aus Gipskartonscheiben betont, die an der Stahlkonstruktion scheinbar entlang rankt und diese durchdringt. So verbindet das filigrane Geflecht aus Scheiben und Dr\u00e4hten die Raumbereiche miteinander.<\/p>\n<p>In der Raumkonstruktion <i>Volume of Uncertainty (Shift 224)<\/i> ist die Wahrnehmung in vielerlei Hinsicht unbestimmt und changierend. Im Werk von Franka H\u00f6rnschemeyer entfalten sie eine ganz neue, eigenst\u00e4ndige Pr\u00e4senz jenseits ihrer eigentlichen Funktion. Meist nutzt H\u00f6rnschemeyer f\u00fcr ihre bildhauerischen Werke industriell gefertigte Baumaterialien, deren bisherige Geschichte durch Gebrauchsspuren eingeschrieben ist &#8211; sie sind auch Informationstr\u00e4ger. Diese Identit\u00e4t der von ihr verwendeten Materialien respektiert die K\u00fcnstlerin nicht nur, sondern zeigt sie offensiv, w\u00e4hrend sie gleichzeitig einen neuen formalen Zusammenhang herstellt und das Material in vollkommen \u00fcberraschende Settings transformiert. In <i>Animation<\/i> f\u00fcgen sich diese Elemente zu einer Kette, die endlos weitergef\u00fchrt werden k\u00f6nnte.
