S. Pritchett arbeitet Evelyn Hofer 1964 erneut mit dem Schriftsteller zusammen. Das 1965 erschienene Buch <\/span><i>New York Proclaimed<\/i><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"> zeichnet ein Portr\u00e4t von New York, das zu der Zeit Evelyn Hofers Heimatstadt war. Die damit einhergehende Vertrautheit erschwerte ihre Arbeit und auch V. S. Pritchett fiel es nicht leicht, die Stadt zu fassen. Evelyn Hofers New Yorker Architekturaufnahmen zeigen zum einen die Symmetrie und Strenge der Stadt, bieten zum anderen jedoch auch einen menschlichen und pers\u00f6nlichen Zugang. Hofer thematisiert nicht nur die von Pritchett hervorgehobene K\u00e4lte und Abgesondertheit der New Yorker Wolkenkratzer, sondern auch die Einwohner, ihre Lebensweise und ihren
